Research & Work Experience
Data Scientist | Research Engineer (PhD Contract)
March 2024 - Present
Supervised by Guillaume Ramelet (Principal Data Scientist), Dr. Maxime Moreaud (Principal Data Scientist), and Dr. Sylvain Desroziers (R&D Manager).
Working on Conformal and adaptive soft sensors for rubber production line quality monitoring
Research Assistant in Machine Learning & Optimization
April 2023 - September 2023
Supervised by Pr. Antoine Cully (ICL research professor).
Worked on Model-Based Quality-Diversity Optimization in Uncertain Environments
Developed and evaluated eight algorithmic variants combining surrogate models, repertoire resets, and sampling strategies to improve robustness and data efficiency in noisy QD environments. Focused on MAP-Elites algorithm and tested the approaches on a robotic arm task, demonstrating improved solution reliability and diversity with fewer evaluations.
Research Intern in Machine Learning & Neuroscience
May 2022 - July 2022
Supervised by Dr. Ludovic Gardy (CNRS research engineer), Pr. Emmanuel Barbeau (CNRS research director), and Pr. Christophe Hurter (ENAC research professor).
Worked on Detection of pathological oscillations in epilepsy using signal processing and convolutional neural networks
Transformed 1D EEG signals into 2D time-frequency scalograms via Morlet-based continuous wavelet transform (CWT) for efficient CNN processing. Implemented Grad-CAM to enhance model interpretability by tracing key activation regions across CNN layers. Optimized the processing pipeline with Cython, reducing computation time by 15%, and improved model generalization to multiple biomarkers.
Research Assistant in Machine Learning & Computer Vision
January 2022 - April 2022
Supervised by Pr. Baptiste Magnier (IMT Mines Alès research professor).
Worked on the design of image filters for narrow contour and multi-scale ridge detection.
Developed a novel 2D Semi Bi-Gaussian (2DSBG) filter for detecting adjacent and multi-scale line features in images. Benchmarked state-of-the-art edge detectors (DexiNed, RCF) and contributed to the ICASSP 2023 publication on computer vision and image processing applications.
