Cerno
An AI interviewer that replaces resume screening with adaptive voice interviews, structured scoring, and actionable candidate feedback.
Tech hiring is slow, biased, and opaque. Candidates are ghosted after lengthy processes; companies drown in unqualified applications. We asked: what if the first interview was instant, fair, and gave everyone feedback?
Cerno reimagines the technical rounds of hiring. A voice-AI agent interviews every candidate in real time, adapts its questions to their actual skills, and gives recruiters structured, rubric-based evaluations designed to reduce bias, with no resume screening and no weeks of back-and-forth.
Built in 36 hours at the Mistral Worldwide Hackathon: Paris Edition (February 28 - March 1, 2026), where our team was among the 100 participants selected from over 1,700 applicants in Paris alone.
Team: Louis Berthier, Saad Souilmi, and Hamza Zerouali.
Cerno is a 36-hour proof of concept rather than a finished product. The natural next steps would be piloting it with real hiring teams and measuring its impact on time-to-decision and candidate experience.
How It Works
1. Pre-interview
Keep your current workflow. Replace your job link on LinkedIn with a Cerno link. Customize the interview however you want.
2. Interview
Each candidate gets a unique voice-AI interview tailored to recruiter expectations and actual technical skills. Candidates interview when ready; engineers get their time back.
3. Post-interview
Structured scoring, full transcripts, detailed summaries, and competency breakdowns. Candidates finally receive the feedback they deserve.
